Heroic dungeons — read before the next raid

Beefed-up heroic loot Loot

Heroic dungeon drops now come in a [HEROIC] version: epics at ilvl 28, rares at ilvl 25.

What goes up, what stays put

Soulbound Heroic Marks Economy

Marks become soulbound, and a single final-boss loot pays the whole group.

The new rules

Group-wide lockout Balance

No more “ferry”: killing the final boss locks the whole group, at the corpse or not.

Exactly how it works

Dungeon quality of life QoL

You no longer zone in straight into aggro, and Thunzharr shouts less loudly (but more often).

Combat

Spell queueing System

Pressing your next spell in the last 0.4 seconds of a cast queues it — no more “You are busy”.

The exact rules

Buffs: newest wins Balance

The 6 group buffs no longer stack between casters: the most recent replaces the previous one.

The affected list

Class fixes Fixes

Mending Light is cheaper, demon re-summoning is fixed, and the dead no longer walk on their own.

The UI overhaul

19 unified windows Interface

Bags, bank, vendors, spellbook, talents… every window moves to the same frame: draggable, resizable, opaque.

What actually changes

Rebuilt Escape menu Settings

Categories, a global settings search, real modifier keybinds, and the game's first gamepad menu navigation.

A tour of the new menu

Modernised keyboard Controls

Q/E become action buttons, Shift+1…0 reaches the 2nd bar. Your custom binds don't move.

The new default layout

Also on the UI side

  • Vendors with Buy / Sell / Buyback tabs.
  • Talents as classic tier-based picks.
  • Hostile mob nameplates cut off at 40 yards (less screen noise).
  • The field-of-view (FOV) slider finally works.
04

Group life & comfort

Ready checks Group

The leader types /ready: a chime, 30 seconds, and an anonymous group tally.

How to use it in raids

Little extras

  • /playtime: your character's total play time.
  • 5 rebindable keys for the pet bar (hunter/warlock).
  • Damage numbers finally all show on “Low” graphics.
  • The action bar also greys out targets that are too close (minimum range).
05

Performance & loading

Smooth crowds +35%

  • Each character goes from ~9 draw calls to just 1.
  • 90 players on screen: 45 → 61 fps.
  • You, your target and anything casting stay animated every frame.

Much faster loading

  • Only nearby terrain is built before you enter the world — the rest streams in the background.
  • Gameplay tips while loading.

Lighter server

  • Aura serialization costs half as much.
  • Fewer latency spikes at peak hours.
06

Mobile & native apps

Touch controls

  • Autorun locks by pushing the joystick all the way — no more separate button.
  • Two-finger zoom is more deliberate, and the camera no longer locks up after a pinch.
  • Portrait mode is removed: a “rotate your phone” screen.

Native sign-in

  • Discord sign-in and linking directly in the iOS/Android apps.
  • Native Sign in with Apple on iOS.
  • Password reset by email from the login screen.
07

The rest of the update

Professions

  • New introduction quest “A Trade for Every Hand” from Foreman Odell in Eastbrook (5 ores → 150 XP, 50 copper).
  • The crafting window finally groups recipes by profession.
  • Enchanting is built into the engine (disenchanting + 12 enchants) but not yet enabled in game.
  • Mail lets you choose the quantity of an attached stack.

The jail 🚔 Moderation

Moderators can send a player to jail — a real cell in the world, with inmate brawling.

The jail rulebook

Localisation & platforms

  • All 21 non-English languages reach 0 pending strings (2,596 translated for this version).
  • Fixes for real mistranslations in 16 languages.
  • Linux desktop builds (AppImage, .deb) are back.

What is NOT in v0.24.0

  • The Warrior rework (dual wield, parry, reworked rage) was merged then reverted within the same window — it will return reworked.
  • No new items, mobs, quests or zones: game data is identical to v0.23.0.
