Professions 2.0: the great reset
The professions overhaul reaches its finale — and starts over, literally: every skill is reset once, leveling follows a four-state mastery curve with per-profession caps, gathering casts like a spell and fishing gets its minigame.
Everyone back to zero Reset
On your first login in v0.29.0, every profession skill — crafting and gathering alike — goes back to 0. Items, recipes, tools, gold: everything else is kept, and an in-game letter explains it all.
What resets, what stays
Leveling must be earned New
Every action is rated orange, yellow, green or gray by difficulty: full, half, quarter or no gain. Per-profession caps (100 / 125 / 200), cast-time gathering, tool-gated nodes and a fishing minigame.
Curve, caps, gathering and fishing
Worth remembering
- 26 profession deeds: the Guildsworn, Masterwright and Master Angler titles — plus Grandmaster per profession at the cap.
- Materials, enchants and tools get original names — Sheenleaf, Glyphsteel, Skysilver, Chime Essence — with a commissioned art set for every icon.
- Crafted and gathered items carry their provenance (crafter and gatherer) on the tooltip.
02
Enchanting goes live — archetypes are earned by quest
Built into the engine since v0.24 without ever being wired up, enchanting finally ships in game — with its numbers trimmed for the occasion. And picking your profession pair now goes through real quests at the masters.
Enchanting, for real New
Disenchanting and applying enchants live in the bag item menu, with a dedicated picker. Three enchant tiers — including the new Runed line — and magnitudes cut in half before launch.
Tiers, materials and gains
Four quests, four pairs New
Each master offers their own attunement quest — “The Smith's Promise” from Forgemistress Darva, and so on. Returning to a former pair gets ever more expensive, and stations post recurring work orders.
Quests, amends and work orders
Worth remembering
- Commission crafting: a piece made for someone binds to its first recipient (equipment only).
- Station masters sell the Maker's Bond unbind service: 25s (uncommon), 1g (rare), 4g (epic and above).
- Bound copies are protected from “sell all junk” and partial-stack sales.
03
Dungeons & raid: difficulty climbs back
Normal Sanctum was being solo-farmed for 6 gold a run — the economy retune doubles health across the board and guarantees every hit hurts. On heroic, elites learn to charge.
Health doubled, damage floors Balance
Gravewyrm Sanctum on normal, all four heroic dungeons and Nythraxis (120,000 HP on heroic): health ×2 and per-swing damage floors — 300 to 1,200 depending on the target.
The numbers, Onrush included
41 items to plug the gaps Loot
Weapons for feral Druids, caster mail for Shaman and Paladin, the game's first intellect shield — Pearlward Aegis — and new drops on Korzul and Nythraxis.
Itemization and class fixes
Worth remembering
- Onrush (heroic only): elite warriors and guards charge — 5-30 m, 0.5 s stun. No more lazy kiting.
- Final bosses and named mid-bosses: immune to crowd control and slows on both difficulties.
- Avatar can now be used while feared or stunned — but no longer breaks boss control.
04
Interface & social
Windows redesigned Interface
- Character sheet and inspect become a 3D showcase: quality glow on slots, defense / attack side panels.
- The World Market moves to a landscape grid, filters neck / ring / off-hand, and caps suggested prices at 10× value.
- Quest log and vendors go landscape; the options split into four tabs.
Everyday comfort
- Action bar layouts save server-side, per character — synced across devices.
- The XP bar moves below the action bars; login lands on character select with a “News and Updates” feed.
- New option to hide other players' nameplates (except your target); identical items stack across bags, bank and trades.
Social & mail
- /afk shows a badge on nameplates; the guild roster sorts by online status.
- Parcels expire after 30 days and return to the sender once; the compose form gains a quantity field.
- Class colors refreshed everywhere, and the Holder / Contributor badges become the Ascendant Sigils.
05
Camera, audio & reliability
The camera gains weight
- New chase-camera stack: damped spring on jumps and landings, velocity look-ahead, FOV kicks, zone-entry pans — every layer honors reduced motion.
- An off-hand weapon of the same type finally mirrors the active Armory skin.
Remastered audio
- Zone and battle music now streams as remastered files; inaudible cues pause their streams to save bandwidth.
- The forge ambience is a real recording — no more click every 8 seconds — and the Thornpeak Heights wind calms down.
A leaner server
- Serialization once per tick, cache-fronted leaderboards and three database hotspots fixed.
- A nightly retention sweep keeps the database bounded; reduced-scope tokens can no longer enter the world or admin APIs.
- The infrastructure moves to Node 26.
