Patch notes v0.41.1

A hotfix that delivers two things that matter. First, every healer can finally resurrect: Priests and Druids get their own spells, and the Druid picks up the only in-combat resurrection on a five-minute cooldown. Second, Heroic Ignivar works again — and the bug was worse than the notes let on: picking Heroic silently ran you through Normal, loot included.

01Healers, and the spell queue

Two unrelated changes, but both touch how you play every day. The first fixes an inequality between healers; the second rewards a good connection a little less.

Every healer gets one New

Benison and Doctrine priests get Prayer of Returning (group, out of combat). Groveheart druids get two spells: Grove Awakening (group, out of combat) and Wildwake, a resurrection cast in the thick of combat.

Your presses no longer vanish Everyone

Pressing a key in the final 0.4 seconds of a running global cooldown no longer drops it on the floor: the spell is queued and fires the moment the cooldown clears. Last press wins. Rotation cadence therefore no longer rewards a good connection.

See what the notes leave out

Paladin Nerf

  • Recall the Fallen goes from no cooldown to five minutes.
  • The game explains why: "out of combat" was not a throttle, because a caster who never draws aggro drops combat mid-encounter once the timer passes. Resurrections could therefore be chained inside a single fight.
  • It is the only real nerf in the release, and it lines the Paladin up with everyone else.

Mouseover targeting survives Useful detail

  • A queued spell keeps the target you were hovering when you pressed.
  • Without that, the queue would have broken mouseover healing — it was the first piece of feedback received.

What does not change Scope

  • No damage, healing or cost value moves in this release.
  • Sets, talents and masteries are identical to v0.41.0 — including the 2/4/6 rework and its effect on your gear.
  • The Builds guide and the PvP guide stand as they are.

For raiding Practical

  • A raid can now count on any healer to pick the group back up after a wipe, instead of depending on one class.
  • Wildwake is the only in-combat resurrection at five minutes — the other class that has one waits ten.
  • The group resurrections are all pinned to the same value so no spec gains an edge.

02Heroic Ignivar, and the loot that trades

The raid opened with v0.41.0, and its Heroic mode did not work. That is fixed, and the loot binding policy is finally settled.

Heroic was giving you Normal Verified

The notes only say "Heroic Ignivar works again". The code is more precise, and more annoying: the forge-lift room was not declared heroic, so the game clamped your choice down to Normal at the door — and every room deeper in inherited that clamped claim.

See what that meant

41 items become tradable Loot

Of the tier's 201 items: the 15 redemption sigils and the 145 tier pieces they buy stay soulbound, and the 41 ordinary boss drops become transferable. The numbers check out exactly.

Trading a soulbound drop in party New

  • Raid loot that is bound on pickup can now be staged in a trade window — but only with the group that earned it.
  • The game snapshots who was present at kill time: someone who joins afterwards cannot receive it.
  • This is what lets you rescue an item that dropped on the wrong armour type.

The quartermaster leaves the raid Location

  • He moved out of the Halls of First Tempering to stand outside, beside the keep entrance.
  • The intent was right: no more entering the raid just to spend your sigils.
  • Except the chosen spot was unreachable — it took v0.41.2, the next day, to settle it.

What it means for the guild Practical

  • A Heroic night finally counts: until now it handed out Normal loot.
  • The Emberward shield, moved to Heroic only in v0.41.0, was therefore impossible to obtain between the two releases.
  • If you ran Heroic on August 31, that was Normal. It needs doing again.

And the two bosses Reminder

  • Ignivar and Varkhul received no balance changes here.
  • Their mechanics and drop rates are the ones described on the v0.41.0 page.
  • Only the mode you fight them on is fixed.

03The rest

Three small things, one of which involves real money: mech chroma plates finally come back to you.

Your chroma plates come back Fix

  • Equipping a mech chroma consumes a plate. Until now, removing the colour did not hand it back.
  • Now any transition away — unequip, swatch change, fresh claim — releases the plate back to your bags, exactly once.
  • The permanent account-wide unlock is never revoked: re-selecting a colour you already own consumes nothing.
  • The plate tooltip finally reads "Skin" instead of "Tool".

The purchase confirm is visible Fix

  • The "Purchase Skin" confirm opened behind the inspector overlay, so it could not be seen.
  • It now mounts above everything: you can confirm, or cancel.

Translations are complete again 21 locales

  • Every new string in the release is filled across the 21 shipped locales.
  • Four resurrection tooltips had been blanked and are refilled across 18 locales: Ancestors' Return, Collective Reversal, Temporal Reversal and Recall the Fallen.
